
Sita Gufaa

The Sita Gufa is located at the western gate of the Kalaram Temple near the five Banyan trees in Panchavati. It is an ancient cave which is believed to be the place where Sita would worship Lord Shiva during their long exile. Legend also states that it was here that the most atrocious act of the Ramayana took place - the abduction of Sita by demon king, Ravan. Enclosed within this cave are the idols of the Ramayana trinity, namely Ram, Sita and Laxman. It also houses a stone block resembling a bed, a dressing room and a small temple with a Shivling, frequented by devotees.

You will actually see a stone carved room with big stone blocked cut in shape of a small bed, Carvings on the walls of the room, The ancient Shivalinga still exists in the small temple in the cave and is visited by devotees.
